Spark Plug: Removal
2023 Jeep Cherokee TrailhawkSECTION Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the ignition coil(s). Refer to COIL, IGNITION, REMOVAL .
- Prior to removing the spark plug, spray compressed air into the cylinder head cover opening (1). This will help prevent foreign material from entering the combustion chamber.
- Remove the spark plug (1) from the cylinder head using a quality thin wall socket with a rubber or foam insert.
