Solenoid, Variable Valve Timing: Removal
2023 Jeep Cherokee TrailhawkSECTION Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the top engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the air cleaner body cover and clean air hose. Refer to HOSE, CLEAN AIR, REMOVAL

- Disconnect the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the bolts (2) and the VVT solenoid (1).
- If required, remove the right isolator to engine mount bracket bolt (2) to gain access to the lower VVT solenoid bolt (1).
- Remove the gasket (1).
