SUBJECT:
Passive Entry, Keyless Go Does Not Function

OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves removing the liftgate scuff plate, inspecting the passive entry antenna, and replacing the antenna if necessary.

MODELS:

2011 (WK) GrandCherokee

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built between February 17, 2011 (MDH 0217XX) and February 22, 2011 (MDH 0222XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Passive entry and/or keyless go does not function.

DIAGNOSIS:

If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the liftgate scuff plate. Refer to the procedures available in DealerConnect / TechCONNECT > Group 23 - Body > Interior > PLATE, Scuff, Liftgate > Removal - REMOVAL.

2. Inspect the passive entry antenna and wiring connector which are attached to bottom of the load floor bin.





3. Is the passive entry antenna housing damaged? i.e. (Fig 1)

a. Yes >> Replace the antenna and proceed to Step # 4.

b. No >> Proceed to Step # 4.

4. Is the passive entry antenna wiring connector cracked or broken?

a. Yes >> Repair following standard wire repair procedures and proceed to Step # 5.

b. No >> Proceed to Step # 5.

5. Install the liftgate scuff plate. Refer to the procedures available in DealerConnect / TechCONNECT > Group 23 - Body> Interior > PLATE, Scuff, Liftgate> Installation - INSTALLATION.

6. Does passive entry and keyless go function?

a. Yes >> The repair is complete.

b. No >> Further diagnosis is required, refer to procedures available in DealerConnect / TechCONNECT > Group 8 - Electrical > 8N - Power Systems > Power Locks > Diagnosis and Testing - Power Locks System
