Fuel Injection Pump
The Bosch VE4 mechanical injection pump contains a low pressure vane-type transfer pump and a high pressure distributor-type injection pump.
The transfer pump output pressure (injection pump housing pressure) averages 50-100 psi (3.5-7.0 kg/cm2 ) depending upon engine speed. The plunger injection pump boosts fuel pressure to about 2000 psi (140 kg/cm2 ). Pump assembly is also equipped with an electric fuel shutoff solenoid.
