Fuel Pressure Regulator Test
- Relieve fuel pressure from system. Connect fuel pressure gauge between fuel filter and fuel tube. Remove hose from fuel pressure regulator and plug hose. Jump fuel pump relay. Connect hand-held vacuum pump to pressure regulator. Turn ignition on.
- Gradually apply vacuum to regulator. Fuel pressure should decrease as vacuum increases. Compare values to REGULATED FUEL PRESSURE table in BASIC TESTING article. If results are unsatisfactory, replace fuel pressure regulator.
