2003 Hyundai XG350 BaseFACTORY OEM SERVICE PROCEDURE

Automatic Transaxle: Removal

  1. After removing the engine cover, remove the battery and the tray.

  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  3. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector, solenoid connector, and oil temperature sensor connector.
  4. Disconnect the speedometer sensor connector.
  5. Remove the control cable.

  6. Remove the oil cooler hose.

  7. Separate the power steering column shaft from the u-joint.

  8. Remove the steering oil pressure the return tube.
  9. Attach the special tool, engine support fixture, (J28467-B, J28467-125) to the engine hooks.
  10. Remove the transaxle mounting bolt and bracket.

  11. Remove the upper bolt of the transaxle torque converter housing.

  12. Lift up the vehicle.
  13. Remove the O2 sensor connector and the front muffler.
  14. Remove the drain plug and drain the automatic transaxle fluid.

  15. Remove the tie rod, the lower arm ball joint and the drive shaft.
  16. Remove the steering tube mounting bolt mounted on the sub-frame.
  17. Remove the front and the rear roll support bolt.
  18. Install the jack for the removal of the sub-frame.
  19. Remove the subframe mounting bolts and the subframe.
