Bench Testing: Commutator

2003 Hyundai XG350 BaseSECTION Commutator
NOTE: For commutator specifications, see STARTER SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  1. Place the armature on a pair of V-blocks, and check the runout using a dial gauge. See Fig 1 .
  2. Check the outer diameter of the commutator. See Fig 2 .
  3. Check the depth of the undercut between segments. See Fig 3 .
