Component Function: TCM
The TCM randomly monitors memory checksum by performing a self-test. These tests are implemented to verify that all of the vehicle software operational calculations are operating properly. If the test fails due to incorrect checksum, the TCM determines there is a checksum value error.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
