Repair Procedures: Removal

2021 Genesis GV80 2.5T Advanced, AWDSECTION Removal
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
CAUTION:
  • Wait at least 30 seconds after separating the cable.
  1. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
  2. Remove the driver airbag.

    (Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")

  3. Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).

  4. Loosen the steering wheel lock bolt (A) and then remove the steering wheel.

    Tightening torque:Β 

    44.1 - 49.0 N.m (4.5 - 5.0 kgf.m, 32.5 - 36.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Do not use the hammer for disconnecting on the steering column not to damage the steering column.
    • Do not reuse the steering lock bolt.
    • When assembling, match the gear teeth as shown in the below illustration.
