DTC INDEX
| DTC | Description | Action |
|---|---|---|
| U0004 | High Speed CAN Communication Bus (+) Low: No Sub Type Information | A High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) fault was present at a point in time. The fault is not currently present since the module is communicating with the scan tool. CLEAR the DTC . REPEAT the network test with the scan tool. VERIFY the integrity of the connectors and wiring. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information. |
| U0005 | High Speed CAN Communication Bus (+) High: No Sub Type Information | A High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) fault is present but the network may still be functional at a degraded level. One or more modules may not communicate and may not be sending or receiving messages. GO to PINPOINT TEST AA |
| U0007 | High Speed CAN Communication Bus (-) Low: No Sub Type Information | A High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) fault is present but the network may still be functional at a degraded level. One or more modules may not communicate and may not be sending or receiving messages. GO to PINPOINT TEST AA |
| U0008 | High Speed CAN Communication Bus (-) High: No Sub Type Information | A High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) fault was present at a point in time. The fault is not currently present since the module is communicating with the scan tool. CLEAR the DTC . REPEAT the network test with the scan tool. VERIFY the integrity of the connectors and wiring. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information. |
| U0009 | High Speed CAN Communication Bus (-) Shorted to Bus (+): No Sub Type Information | A High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) fault was present at a point in time. The fault is not currently present since the module is communicating with the scan tool. CLEAR the DTC . REPEAT the network test with the scan tool. VERIFY the integrity of the connectors and wiring. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information. |
| U0013 | Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus (+) Low: No Sub Type Information | A Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) fault is either currently present or was present at a point in time. The BCM can report this DTC while a fault is present because the BCM communicates with the scan tool on the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). If no Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) modules communicate, GO to PINPOINT TEST AC If all Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) modules currently communicate, CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the network test with the scan tool. VERIFY the integrity of the connectors and wiring. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information. |
| U0014 | Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus (+) High: No Sub Type Information | A Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) fault is present but the network may still be functional at a degraded level. One or more modules may not communicate and may not be sending or receiving messages. GO to PINPOINT TEST AC |
| U0016 | Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus (-) Low: No Sub Type Information | A Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) fault is present but the network may still be functional at a degraded level. One or more modules may not communicate and may not be sending or receiving messages. GO to PINPOINT TEST AC |
| U0017 | Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus(-) High: No Sub Type Information | A Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) fault is either currently present or was present at a point in time. |
| U0018 | Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus (-) Shorted to Bus (+): No Sub Type Information | A Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) fault was present at a point in time. The fault is not currently present since the module is communicating with the scan tool. CLEAR the DTC . REPEAT the network test with the scan tool. VERIFY the integrity of the connectors and wiring. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK for schematic and connector information. |

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
