Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor:






REMOVAL

1. Partially drain cooling system.

2. Disconnect negative battery cable.

3. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from engine coolant temperature sensor.

4. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten engine coolant temperature sensor to 13-20 Nm (10-15 ft lb).

3. Refill cooling system.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
