Power Window Function Test
- Turn ignition on. Check operation of all driver's side window switches. If both windows are not working, go to step 2). If left window is not working, go to step 7). If right window is not working, go to step 7). If passenger's side switch is not working, go to step 9). If One-Touch feature does not operate, replace main power window switch.
- Check 30-amp power window fuse. Replace fuse if bad. If fuse continues to blow, go to step 3). If fuse does not fail, go to step 5).
- Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect 16-pin interior fuse panel connector. See Fig 1 . Disconnect main power window switch connector and passenger's power window switch connector. Measure resistance between Black/Red wire at 16-pin interior fuse panel connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Black/Red wire between power window switches and interior fuse panel. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to step 4).
- With the ignition off, disconnect main power window switch connector. Measure resistance between switch connector Green/Black, Red/Blue, Green/White and Red/White wires and ground. If any resistances are less than 5 ohms, repair circuit in question for a short to ground. If no resistances are less than 5 ohms, reconnect interior fuse panel and go to step 5).
- With ignition off, disconnect main power window switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on Black/Red wire at main power window switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 6). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire between switch and interior fuse panel.
- With ignition off and main power window switch connector disconnected, measure resistance of Black wire between main power switch connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to step 7). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire.
- With ignition off, remove main power window switch. Leave electrical connector connected. Check voltage at switch as shown in the MAIN POWER SWITCH VOLTAGESΒ
table, while altering switch positions. If voltages are within specification, go to step 8). If voltages are not within specification, replace main power window switch.MAIN POWER SWITCH VOLTAGES

Measure resistance between main switch connector Green/White wire and right window switch connector Green/White wire. Measure resistance between main switch connector Red/White wire and right window switch connector Red/White wire. If resistances are less than 5 ohms and the right window does not operate, go to step 9). If resistances are less than 5 ohms and the left window does not operate, replace left power window motor. If resistances are more than 5 ohms, repair wire(s) in question.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect right window switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on Black/Red wire at right window switch connector. If the voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 10). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire between right window switch and interior fuse panel.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect main power window switch. Remove right power window switch, but leave electrical connector connected. Turn ignition on. Check for voltage at right window switch as shown in RIGHT WINDOW SWITCH VOLTAGEΒ
table. If voltages are within specification, go to step 11). If voltages are not within specification, replace right power window switch.RIGHT WINDOW SWITCH VOLTAGE (1)
