Steering System: Column: Installation

  1. Position the steering column to the instrument panel.
  2. Install the steering column bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .

  3. Install the steering column nuts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  4. Secure the wiring harness routing clip (2).

  5. Install the steering column shaft to the steering gear.
  6. Install the steering column pinch bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  7. Install the clockspring. Refer to CLOCKSPRING, INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the upper steering column shroud. Refer to SHROUD, STEERING COLUMN, UPPER, INSTALLATIONΒ .
  9. Install the lower steering column shroud. Refer to SHROUD, STEERING COLUMN, UPPER, INSTALLATIONΒ .
  10. Install the steering wheel. Refer to WHEEL, STEERING, INSTALLATIONΒ .
