DESCRIPTION
CAUTION: If the replacement of both the Gateway and the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module is required, replace the Gateway first, transfer the key and then replace the SKREEM. If the module replacement sequence is not followed, the key information will be lost and a vehicle NO START will result.
The Gateway is located under the driver seat. The gateway's primary function is to define communications between electronic controllers and move data collected from the multiple controllers to the host controller for processing using Controller Area Network (CAN) and Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) bus. The gateway does not contain any drivers, and therefore does not directly operate any vehicle components.
