Service Intervals
Check transmission fluid level each month. Under normal service conditions, no service intervals are necessary. Under severe service conditions, change differential fluid and transmission fluid and filter at 48,000-mile intervals. Severe service conditions are conditions such as continuous operation during extreme temperatures, continuous operation in stop and go traffic, long periods of engine idling, trailer towing, police, taxi, local delivery service or operating in dusty conditions.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
