NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TESTΒ  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs. Activate turn signals. Recheck for DTCs. If TURN SIGNAL SWITCH INPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If TURN SIGNAL SWITCH INPUT SHORT does not reset, conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits and repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect multifunction switch 4-pin connector. For removal and installation procedures to access connector, see STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor MULTIFUNCTION switch voltage. If voltage is 4.8 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 4.8 volts, replace multifunction switch.
  3. Locate and disconnect BCM connector C4 and C5. See COMPONENT LOCATIONSΒ . See Figure and Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C4 terminal No. 22 (Violet/Orange wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Orange wire.
  4. Using DVOM, measure resistance between BCM connector C4 terminal No. 22 (Violet/Orange wire) and connector C5 terminal No. 31 (White/Light Blue wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short between Violet/Orange and White/Light Blue wire.
  5. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C5 terminal No. 31 (White/Light Blue wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULEΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Light Blue wire.
