Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Body Control Module (BCM). 2. Using scan tool, clear IGNITION STATUS MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED DTC from memory heated seat/mirror module. Turn ignition off, then start engine. Wait one minute. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. Perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEMS VERIFICATION TESTΒ  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ  . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULEΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
