- Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. If oil level indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If oil level indicator illuminates, go to step Β 4 .
- Turn ignition off. Remove oil pressure switch. Install mechanical oil pressure gauge. Start engine and let idle. Ensure oil pressure is greater than 4 psi (.3 bar). If oil pressure is as specified, replace oil pressure switch. If oil pressure is not as specified, repair engine oiling system as necessary. See appropriate article in ENGINES.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure switch harness connector. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C1. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Gray wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C1. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Gray wire between oil pressure switch and instrument cluster.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure switch harness connector. Using a fused jumper wire, ground Gray wire terminal at oil pressure switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. If oil level indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If oil level indicator illuminates, replace oil pressure switch.
