- Connect timing light to engine. Have an assistant crank engine while you watch the timing marks. Timing should be between 0-16Β° BTDC. If timing is okay, check valve timing and compression.
- If timing is not okay, set timing to 10Β° BTDC while cranking. Engine should start. If engine starts, set timing to specification. If engine does not start, check valve timing and compression.
