1984 Chrysler E Class 2.6 GSECTION Fuel Control

The Fuel Control system handles the actual delivery of fuel into the engine. Fuel from the pump enters the fuel rail, passes injectors, and enters fuel pressure regulator.

The regulator maintains a constant fuel pressure in the system of 53 psi (3.7 kg/cm2 ) by allowing excess fuel to return to the fuel tank. In addition to the regulator, the system consists of the fuel rail and 4 fuel injectors.

Fuel injectors are electrically operated solenoid valves hich are powered by the power module and controlled by the logic module. The logic module determines injector pulse width, or "ON" time. The logic module sends this information to the power module hich energizes the injectors for the required period of time.
