Removal Procedure

2006 Chevrolet SSR AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure
    IMPORTANT: Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.
  1. Open the hood.
  2. CAUTION: If broken glass falls into the defroster outlets, it can be blown into the passenger compartment and cause personal injury.
  3. Cover and protect the following parts from broken glass:
    • The upper dash pad
    • The defroster outlets and A/C outlets
    • The seats and carpeting
  4. Disconnect the antenna cable. Refer to Antenna Cable Replacement in Entertainment.
  5. Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  6. Remove the cowl air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Remove the windshield frame appliques. Refer to Applique Replacement - Windshield Frame in Exterior Trim.
  8. Remove the rearview mirror. Refer to Rearview Mirror ReplacementΒ .
