NOTE: Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.0L.
Disconnect the throttle actuator motor electrical connector.

Remove the throttle body nuts (507).
Remove the throttle body bolts (538).
Remove the throttle body (508) and the gasket (509).
IMPORTANT: Do not reuse the throttle body gasket. Install a new gasket during assembly.
Discard the throttle body gasket.

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

• You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.

• Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.

• The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.

• You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.

• You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
