ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connectors.
3. Remove the ECM retaining bolts.
4. Remove the ECM from the ECM mount.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the ECM in place.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the ECM to the ECM mount and install the retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the ECM retaining bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Perform the following procedures:
- Program the ECM
- CKP System Variation Learn Procedure
- Idle Learn Procedure
