Safety Warning

Shift Interlock System: Description
The transmission shift interlock system prevents driver from moving gearshift lever from Park unless ignition switch is turned to ON position, and also prevents ignition key from being removed until gearshift lever is returned to Park. Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) solenoid locks gearshift lever in Park while ignition is on until brake pedal is depressed. This prevents accidental movement of gearshift lever from Park while engine is running. BTSI solenoid is located in steering column.
