Resynchronization may be necessary due to security methods used by RKE system. Transmitters do not send the same signal twice (rolling code). Receiver will not respond to a signal it has sent previously. This prevents recording and playback of transmitter signal. Resynchronization will be necessary under following conditions:
- Transmitter battery is very weak.
- Transmitter battery is changed.
- Vehicle battery is replaced.
- Vehicle battery is disconnected.
- Transmitter buttons have been pushed 256 times out of range of receiver.
To resynchronize transmitter to receiver, stand within 5 feet to vehicle. Simultaneously depress and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter for 7 seconds. Door locks should cycle to confirm resynchronization.

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

• You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.

• Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.

• The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.

• You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.

• You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
