Installation Procedure
- For 3.6L LGX:Β
Install the battery negative cable (4) to the battery sensor (2).
- Carefully install the battery negative cable nut (3) while counterhold with a wrench (1) at the torxpin. Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Remove all dirt, oil and grease from the battery pole (2) and battery sensor (1).
- Wide open the battery post negative cable clamp of the battery sensor and install the battery sensor to the battery pole without great force.
- Carefully position without great force the battery post negative cable clamp at the bottom of the battery pole as shown in the graphic.
Battery Post Negative Cable Clamp Nut (1) - Install and tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)
- Electrical Connector (2) - Connect
Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Access Hole Cover (1) - Install
CAUTION: - For 2.0L LTG:Β
Install the battery negative cable (4) to the battery sensor (2).
- Carefully install the battery negative cable nut (3) while counterhold with a wrench (1) at the torxpin. Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Remove all dirt, oil and grease from the battery pole (2) and battery sensor (1).
- Wide open the battery post negative cable clamp of the battery sensor and install the battery sensor to the battery pole without great force.
- Carefully position without great force the battery post negative cable clamp at the bottom of the battery pole as shown in the graphic.
Battery Post Negative Cable Clamp Nut (2) - Install and tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)
- Electrical Connector (1) - Connect
Battery Terminal Cover (1) - Install
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode & Engine - Off
- Program the volatile memory. Volatile Memory Programming
- Program all of the customer's radio station presets and set the radio clock to the current time.
- If diagnosing a stop/start complaint, conduct the battery sensor module learn procedure. Battery Sensor Module LearnΒ to verify repair.
Inform customer that the Stop/Start feature will not be available until the vehicle is allowed to sit for at least 3 hours undisturbed.
