Removal Procedure
- Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (3.1L) in Power Steering Systems.
- Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
- Remove the CMP sensor.
- Inspect the sensor O-ring for wear, cracks or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
