System Check

2000 Buick Regal GSSECTION System Check
  1. Before beginning system check, turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure there is battery voltage from power window circuit breaker located in instrument panel fuse block. See COMPONENT LOCATIONSΒ  . Ensure lock-out switch on master switch assembly is in OFF position (4-door). Ensure master switch assembly ground circuit is clean and tight. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ  .
  2. Operate each window from master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. Each window should operate up and down quietly and smoothly through full range of travel, without sticking.
  3. Momentarily press left front window switch on master switch assembly to DOWN position (past first detent). Left front window should continue to open fully.
  4. Operate each window from each individual switch. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly through full range of travel, without sticking.
  5. Press lock-out switch on master switch assembly to LOCK position. Attempt to operate each window from each individual switch. Windows should not operate from each individual switch but operate from master switch assembly. If power window system does not function properly, go to PRELIMINARY INSPECTIONΒ  .
