- To carry out this check, oxygen sensor must be at operating temperature. Emission control system is dependent on engine temperature and can have a duration of up to 5 minutes at 86°F (30°C). At starting temperatures of greater than 68°F (20°C), the control can take up operation after approximately 30 seconds.
- The control system can effectively compensate wear-related deviations in air-fuel mixture and thus conceal other defects. If necessary, disconnect oxygen sensor when checking air-fuel mixture system.
