Injection Pump Internal Fuel Pressure Check
- Install a fuel pressure gauge at banjo fitting of injection pump return line. Install tachometer at impulse unit. Start engine and check fuel pressure.
- High internal pump pressure may be caused by clogged fuel distribution lines. Restricted fuel filter or internal pump problems cause low internal pressure. If pump causes either pressure problems or low internal pressure, it must be replaced.
