Multi View Camera Aiming: Adjustment
How to use this Service Information .
NOTICE:
When working with a vehicle equipped with the electronic air suspension, be sure to set it to the leveling off mode to prevent unexpected operation. Refer to the Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions - Refer to: Electronic Air Suspension System Connector Fitting Precautions or Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions for the procedure.
NOTE:
- The multi view camera unit must be re-aimed whenever the front camera, the rearview camera, the left side camera, or the right side camera is removed or replaced, or if an aiming error occurs.
- The multi view camera must also be re-aimed if any of the following components related to the multi view camera were removed/reinstalled or adjusted:
-
- -
Power mirror
- -
Front door
- -
Tailgate
- -
Front bumper or front grille
- -
Mirror housing lower cover
- -
- If DTC B14B3-54 Camera Aiming Incomplete is present, the multi view camera must also be re-aimed.
- Conditions for the aiming environment:
-
- -
Use shades or other means to prevent direct sunlight and ambient light from headlights and brake lights from shining onto the floor surface.
- -
Camera adjustment (aiming) detects the black and white contrast of the multi-view camera system markers from the image displayed on the center MID. If ambient light reflected from lighting or vehicles reflects off the multi-view camera system markers, the camera may not be able to detect the multi-view camera system markers and the camera adjustment (aiming) may fail. The lighting should be adjusted so that the contrast between black and white is clear.
- -
Park the vehicle on level ground (within one degree). Do not do this procedure with the vehicle on a lift or with the tires on steel plates or rollers.
- -
Aim the multi view camera on a flat, level ground with the following space around the vehicle:
Front camera aiming with at least 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in front of the vehicle
Rearview camera aiming with at least 1.5 m (4.9 ft) behind the vehicle
Side camera aiming with at least 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in front of, behind and on either side of the vehicle
- -
All wheels of the vehicle should touch the ground.
- -
Clean the lens surface of each camera.
- -
The HDS is required when aiming the multi view camera.
- -
Make sure the front grille, the front bumper, and the power mirrors are installed correctly.
- -
A person or an object equivalent to the driver must be placed in the driver's seat.
- -
There should be no bright lights or reflections on the targets (sunlight, windows, illumination, or reflectors) or designs similar to the target pattern.
- -
For models with electronic air suspension system: Reset the suspension by changing the integrated dynamics system mode from Normal to Sport, then back to Normal again.
- -
- If aiming is unsuccessful after confirming the conditions and the correct target placement, check for bent or mis-installed components.
NOTE: When marking on the floor surface, use suitable tape to mark the exact locations.
- Before Aiming - Set
Procedure
1. Set the cord along the center-line of the vehicle - Refer to: Before Aiming Setting (2022 2023 2024) or Before Aiming Setting (Integrated Driver Support System / Static Aiming) (2025) or Before Aiming Setting (Integrated Driver Support System (Camera and Five Radars) / Static Aiming) (2025) .
2. Make points (Z1, Y1, Z2 and Y2) and set a string along the center-line of the vehicle - Refer to: Before Aiming Setting (2022 2023 2024) or Before Aiming Setting (Integrated Driver Support System / Static Aiming) (2025) or Before Aiming Setting (Integrated Driver Support System (Camera and Five Radars) / Static Aiming) (2025) .
3. Place a string between point (Z1) and point (Y1), point (Z2), and point (Y2) and tape both ends of the string on the floor surface - Refer to: Before Aiming Setting (2022 2023 2024) or Before Aiming Setting(Integrated Driver Support System / Static Aiming) (2025) or Before Aiming Setting(Integrated Driver Support System (Camera and Five Radars) / Static Aiming) (2025) .
4. Measure the right and left front wheel arch height (a) from the floor surface to the top-center of the wheel arch.NOTE: It is not necessary to do all of the aiming procedures listed in this procedure. Do the aiming procedure that is applicable to the component that was removed or requiring a re-aiming.
