Harsh Engine Vibration Felt In The Passenger's Compartment (V6)
- Problem verification 1
- 1. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
- 2. Check for PGM-FI system DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Problem verification 2
- 1. Select the ACM in the PGM-FI system, and check for ACM system DTCs with the HDS.

YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Front active control engine mount test 1
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Open the hood.
- 3. Start the engine.
- 4. Select the ACM Test in the INSPECTION menu with the HDS.
- 5. Do the Front ACM Solenoid OFF with the HDS.

Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Front ACM Solenoid OFF?
YES
Exit the Front ACM Solenoid OFF, then go to step 5.
NO
Exit the Front ACM Solenoid OFF, then go to step 4.
- Front active control engine mount test 2
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then back to the ON mode.
- 2. Select the Front ACM Solenoid ON/OFF in the INSPECTION menu with the HDS.
Front ACM Solenoid ON/OFF
Check the front engine mount with your hand.
Does the mount vibrate?
YES
Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the front engine mount - Refer to: Front Engine Mount Removal and Installation (V6) . If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck.
NO
Replace the front engine mount - Refer to: Front Engine Mount Removal and Installation (V6) .
- Rear active control engine mount test 1
- 1. Do the Rear ACM Solenoid OFF with the HDS.
Rear ACM Solenoid OFF
Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Rear ACM Solenoid OFF?
YES
Check the other engine mounts and any other engine problems that can cause vibration.
NO
Go to step 6.
- Rear active control engine mount test 2
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then back to the ON mode.
- 2. Select the Rear ACM Solenoid ON/OFF in the INSPECTION menu with the HDS.

Check the rear engine mount with your hand.
Does the mount vibrate?
YES
Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the rear engine mount - Refer to: Rear Engine Mount Removal and Installation (V6) . If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck.
NO
Replace the rear engine mount - Refer to: Rear Engine Mount Removal and Installation (V6) .
