Key Interlock Solenoid

2004 Acura 3.5RLSECTION Key Interlock Solenoid
  1. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover. See DASHBOARD LOWER COVERΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect ignition switch 8-pin connector from main wire harness. See Fig 1.
  3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each key position according to table. See Figure and Fig 2 .
  4. Check that the key cannot be removed with power and ground connector to the No. 4 and 8 terminals.
    • If the key cannot be removed, the key interlock solenoid is okay.
    • If the key can be removed, replace the steering lock assembly (the interlock solenoid is not available separately). See STEERING LOCK ASSEMBLYΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
