Key Interlock Solenoid

- Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover. See DASHBOARD LOWER COVER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect ignition switch 8-pin connector from main wire harness. See Fig 1.
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each key position according to table. See Figure and Fig 2 .
- Check that the key cannot be removed with power and ground connector to the No. 4 and 8 terminals.
- If the key cannot be removed, the key interlock solenoid is okay.
- If the key can be removed, replace the steering lock assembly (the interlock solenoid is not available separately). See STEERING LOCK ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
