The seat weight sensor (SWS) unit must be calibrated (see CALIBRATING THE FRONT PASSENGER'S WEIGHT SENSOR UNIT ) after any of these procedures:

  • Front passenger's seat replacement (including any seat components)
  • Replacement of the seat weight sensors
  • Replacement of the seat weight sensor unit
NOTE:
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
  • Route the seat wire harness correctly.
  • Make sure the bushing and pivot washer are installed correctly.
  • Apply multipurpose grease to the moving portion of the seat track.
  • To prevent wrinkles in the seat-back cover, stretch the material evenly over the pad.
  • If the seat-back pad or the OPDS unit is replaced with new one, reinitialize the OPDS unit (see INITIALIZING THE OPDS (OCCUPANT POSITION DETECTION SYSTEM) UNIT WITH MANUAL MODE ).
