Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
3.0CL & 3.2TL
Backprobing, measure voltage between PCM 32-pin connector terminal No. 24 (Black/Green wire on 3.0CL, Blue/Orange wire on 3.2TL ) and PCM 25-pin connector terminal No. 20 (Brown/Black wire) with ignition switch in START position. See Figure. If battery voltage is present, starter signal is okay. If battery voltage is not present, inspect STARTER SIGNAL fuse No. 9 (7.5-amp) on 3.0CL, or fuse No. 13 (7.5-amp) on 3.2TL located in underdash fuse/relay box. If fuse is okay, repair open in Black/Green or Blue/Orange wire between PCM 32-pin connector and fuse. If fuse is blown, repair short in Black/Green or Blue/Orange wire between PCM 32-pin connector and fuse or PGM-FI main relay. Replace fuse.
