1996 Acura 2.5TLFACTORY OEM SERVICE PROCEDURE

Power Window Key-Off Timer Test

  1. Locate integrated control unit in fuse/relay box behind left kick panel. SeeFigure and Fig 1 . Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect integrated control unit Green 16-pin connector. Remove integrated control unit. Check for bent, loose or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary and recheck system. If terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between fuse/relay box 14-pin "B" socket terminal B8 and ground. SeeFigure and Fig 1 . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check for an open in Black wire between fuse/relay box and ground connection behind left kick panel. See WIRING DIAGRAMΒ  .
  3. Open driver's door. Using a voltmeter, check for voltage between fuse/relay box 14-pin "B" socket terminal B1 and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than one volt, check driver's door switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMΒ  . If switch is okay, check for an open in Green/Blue wire between driver's door switch and integrated control unit.
  4. Using a voltmeter, check for voltage between fuse/relay box 14-pin "B" socket terminal B12 and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check fuse No. 37 (15-amp) located in underhood fuse/relay box. If fuse is okay, check for an open in White/Blue wire between fuse No. 37 and integrated control unit.
  5. Open right front passenger's door. Using a voltmeter, check for voltage between integrated control unit Green 16-pin connector terminal A5 (Green/Red wire) and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than one volt, check passenger's door switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMΒ  . If switch is okay, check for an open in Green/Red wire between passenger's door switch and integrated control unit.
  6. Connect a fused jumper wire between fuse/relay box 14-pin "B" socket terminal B12 and integrated control unit Green 16-pin connector terminal A15 (Red wire). Check operation of all windows. If all windows operate, replace integrated control unit. If windows do not operate, check power window relay. See POWER WINDOW RELAY TESTΒ  . If power window relay is okay, check for a poor ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMΒ  . Check for an open in Red wire between integrated control unit and fuse/relay box located in engine compartment.
