Where is the Jeep Wrangler battery?
The main 12V battery is under the hood in the checked Wrangler JK and JL owner manuals. Jeep's 2018 JL and 2024 manuals place it at the right rear of the engine compartment. The old answer on this page incorrectly sent JL owners under the passenger seat. Some Wranglers also have a supplemental Stop/Start battery or separate 4xe high-voltage equipment; identify your exact system before service.
Choose the matching Wrangler
Jeep sold both the JK and the all-new JL for model year 2018. The owner manuals below establish the main 12V location; the linked service entries lead to the matching battery-system procedures. These examples do not establish a replacement battery group, CCA rating, chemistry or removal time for every Wrangler.

Main, supplemental and 4xe batteries are different
The 2024 Jeep manual says a Stop/Start-equipped vehicle has two batteries and warns to use only the main battery's positive post for jump starting. The 4xe also has a high-voltage battery system. Do not follow a generic battery disconnect or replacement procedure across those systems. Use the service entry for your exact engine and electrical equipment; high-voltage service requires the applicable Jeep procedure and training.
Compare a basic 12V testing tool
A multimeter can help check the main 12V battery and charging voltage when used with the matching diagnostic procedure. This is a tool search, not a battery fitment recommendation or a substitute for the Jeep test sequence.
