Toyota RAV4 12-volt battery location
Location depends on the model. Toyota lists the battery in the engine compartment on the checked 2020 gasoline RAV4. For the checked 2022 RAV4 Hybrid, Toyota places the 12-volt battery on the right side of the luggage compartment. Check your own year and powertrain before working on the vehicle.

A hybrid's under-hood jump-start terminal is not necessarily the location of its 12-volt battery. Toyota specifies an under-hood jump-start terminal for the checked 2021 RAV4 Hybrid; follow the 2021 Toyota jump-start instructions only if they apply to your vehicle.
The 12-volt battery is separate from the high-voltage hybrid traction battery. Do not touch orange high-voltage cables or components. If you are unsure, contact a qualified technician. Confirm the correct replacement battery and venting requirements for your VIN before buying.
